Course Description:
Embark on a profound journey into the devotional ocean of Brihad Bhagavatamrita, a sacred scripture that unveils the depths of devotion to Lord Krishna. This self-study course introduces you to the captivating narrative of how Janamejaya, after hearing the Mahabharata from Sage Jaimini, thirsted for more of Krishna's divine stories. Janamejaya implored Jaimini to complete his rendition of the Mahabharata with something exceptionally sweet, "madhurena samapayet." In response to this request, Jaimini narrated the essence of Srimad Bhagavatam, as related by Parikshit to his mother Uttara after he had heard Srimad Bhagavatam from Sukadeva Goswami. Srila Sanatana Goswami preserved this narration in the form of Brihad Bhagavatamrita, often referred to as the khila (supplement) to Jaimini's version of the Mahabharata.
